This week I have been researching different photographic specific websites to see if there are any features that stand out to me for functionality. I have added notes on the screenshots to indicate what stood out to me about the website.
I seem to gravitate towards websites that have full page galleries which is opposite to what my original website has. Previously I only wanted to show one image at a time, but I think with this new version I will have a lot of new content, I feel it might be best to reduce the amount of time it would take for the user/viewer to click through each image (most people would also viewing on their phones, hence more of a scrolling action would be best suited). As much as I personally love the slow reveal of each image (for desktop/laptop) not all works would suit this gallery approach.
My favourite website from this research is a mixture of Will Nolan's and Henry Prestes. I like the clean simplistic layout of both, perhaps Will Nolan's a little more as the spaces in between each are better on the eyes to view. I also like the font style that has been used on Nolan's website, so I can look at finding something similar to see if it works with my style of images.
