This week was dedicated to getting into groups for the major project assignment and to go over how a call sheet operates. Jason explained all of the main elements such as: recording personnel working on the film shoot and what their the roles are, details of shoot locations/transport, what cast is lined up for shooting that day, forecasted whether for the day, plus safety details of the nearest hospital. Below you can see an example of a call sheet.

We used the call sheet to fill in what our roles would be within our groups. As you can see from he picture below, I got to be in the first team on the left. I was really happy about this as there were discussions in previous weeks about creating a Minecraft song parody, which I loved! I thought that it would be a really great way to merge live action and virtual reality in the same space. Think we also had a good spread of people with different skills to be able to pull off this idea. So this session we decided to have a production meeting in H104, discussing the project and establishing main roles. Some of the main roles that came out of this session were:

Caroline - Director

Jorji - Producer, Storyboard Artist

Charlotte - 1st Assistant Director

Sophie - Production Manager

Kalie - Production Coordinator

Natalie - Minecraft Character, Storyboard Artist

Maya - Camera Operator, VFX supervisor

Toby - Unreal Technician, Modeling/Rigging

Anna - Mocap Technician + BTS

Ria - MoBu Technician, Production Assistant

Joline - Production Assistant, Camera Assistant

Below is the beginning of the story board that Jorji created in collaboration with Natalie and the rest of the team. The main idea of this film production is a parody on the song "take on me" by A-Ha.

The plot discussed so far is that a live action person is playing a solo game of Minecraft when she sees another Minecraft character in the world (Evil Minecraft player). This character calls her into the game and she enters through a purple portal, mixing live action with virtual background scene using nDisplay. The live action character turns into a Minecraft character and they both enjoy a dancing session together. Ominously, the Evil Minecraft player turns on the other character and escapes out of the game, leaving them stuck inside.
